BOY!!!!!!!!!!!
A week from yesterday, we had a small family reveal party to find out the gender of our baby. Jamie’s parents were in town from South Dakota, and my parents, grandmothers, brother, and sister-in-law all attended as well. We live-streamed the reveal on Facebook as well so that additional family and friends who couldn’t be there could feel like they were there. It was especially fun since not one person knew the gender of the baby except for my boss, who kindly picked the correct color smoke bomb a few days before and placed it in a taped box, so it was a surprise for everyone!
Both of our families and my coworkers thought it would be a girl by majority, but some, including Jamie, were not surprised! He was thinking it was a boy all along! We couldn’t be more thrilled to get to raise this sweet baby boy that God blessed us with.
Our little party went off without a hitch, and it was so fun to finally have a little celebration. We had it in the morning to try to beat the heat (this was a great move as it ended up being the hottest weekend of the year), and I served mini quiches of different flavors, bacon-wrapped grissini, yogurt parfaits, and donuts. (Donuts were THE best idea ever – they were cute, festive, and best of all, required zero prep!). I customized this cute little evite from Etsy:
It was also the first time a few family members got to see our new home, and several hadn’t seen it decorated, which was special. It was the best day and we will always remember it! Here are a few of our favorite photos from the morning:
Thank you to everyone who came and participated on the Facebook Live event! As mentioned in my last post, I can’t wait to share more about my pregnancy so far. We love you sweet baby boy and can’t wait to meet you!
